SEO (search engine optimization)
is sort of science and art. For website SEO services, there are generally accepted practices, practices recommended by Google, and different ways of implementing them. There are also unethical practices or practices that search engines disapprove of, often called “black hat” SEO.
There is NEVER a guarantee such as first page or first 5 results — not from any ethical company. The only promise is an improvement in search ranks since search engines, Google particularly, keep their algorithms secret.
Also, there is no way to guarantee once an improvement in your site’s search engine ranking is achieved that it will remain so. SEO is fluid, constantly changing depending on changes on your own site, your competitors’ sites, even sites that are trying to make adsense income from your same keywords, as well as search engine algorithm changes.
I never use “black hat” practices or any questionable practices. Such practices can shoot your site quickly to number one only to have you “sidelined” by Google later when it realizes the techniques that were used. Then it is an even harder, slower task to get Google to accept your site again. My philosophy is slow and natural. For example, I will hand-place good-quality backlinks, never blast hundreds of automated links from dubious sources.
And always, the foundation for your website’s SEO services is a solid website, that has useful content and is easy for both search engines and people to understand.
Be sure your website showcases your expertise in your field by providing articles and tips for your customers. Make your site informative and useful. As stated in Google’s SEO for Beginners,
Even though this guide’s title contains the words “search engine”, we’d like to say that you should base your optimization decisions first and foremost on what’s best for the visitors of your site.
